I’m glad you enjoyed the post. Showing the business value of UX Design is a great challenge for us and it is critical regardless of the types of company. Because at the end of the day, it is all about dollar amount. People do not like to invest on thinking.
There are some areas that we can explore as designers:
- Pre-launch: conduct proper user testing of the prototype and present the results (video, data, chart etc) to the business. Man, they love charts and number.
- Post-launch: gather direct user feedback and use data analytic tools to validate and proof the result. (adoption rate, A/B testing, google analytics)
- Education in general: conduct collaborative workshop with the business, show the thinking process behind the UI and the benefits of UX design. (good and bad examples)
Basically, we need to think about how to design a good UX for business to understand the value of UX design. We are on the road!
